Job summary

As the Senior Strategic Finance Associate you will be responsible for building the fundamental tools and analyses that will shape Brytes’s corporate strategy for the next 3 to 5 years of critical accelerated growth. This instrumental position requires sound analytical and strategic capabilities to address complex cross-functional challenges and opportunities. You will be working to independently manage high-level projects, and can expect to provide insight and findings via frequent communications or presentations to executives, investors and external parties; acting as the subject matter expert across the organization. You will have the opportunity to have direct ownership of relevant projects such as forecasting of new initiatives and scenarios. Successful candidates have prior experience in management consulting or investment banking, getting into the granular details and communicating insights and recommendations in a concise executive level format. This role will report directly to the Chief Strategic Officer and have significant direct interactions with the CEO and other members of the executive team.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to generate financial models and insights that support strategic planning and decision-making (e.g. product, engineering, marketing, R&D, HR, etc.)
  • Synthesize complex issues and detailed financial analysis into easily digestible communications for relevant stakeholders
  • Develop board presentations, fundraising pitches and materials, participate in investors’ calls and other stakeholder interactions
  • Forecast financial performance, track evolution and understand deviations from actuals to drive strategy and operational recommendations
  • Map the competitive landscape, identify key players core competencies and develop strategic response recommendations
  • Take the lead on special strategic projects

Job qualifications

  • The ability to successfully navigate ambiguity and thrive in an accelerated growth phase in a loose-structured, fast-moving environment
  • Structured thinking with a strong command of “the details,” that can be summarized into a compelling story behind the data through relevant insights and conclusions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Office Suite. Demonstrated capacities in analytical and financial modeling skills and enjoy applying them to address complex business problems
  • Ability to design visually attractive, concise presentations for high profile audiences
  • Experience in managing cross functional complex projects by proactively creating gantt charts, anticipating roadblocks and proposing recommendations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Mandarin language skills a strongly preferred
  • 2+ years relevant work experience in top tier consulting firm or related industries; and
  • The position can be filled remotely or based in Southern California. Ability to travel occasionally is required.
